Dr. Darryl Jones

This is the sixth year that Dr. Darryl Jones has served as the Artistic Director of the Louisiana Choral Foundation. Jones, who received his PhD in Music Education from Florida State University, is also Director of Choral Activities at McNeese Sate University and Director of the Chancel Choir of University United Methodist Church in Lake Charles.

Dr. Jones is only the second director and has held the position since 2002.  Lamar Robertson directed 25 years.

Ms Kari McCarty

Ms. Kari McCarty teaches music at St. John Elementary School in Lake Charles, LA, sings in the Masterworks Chorale and is the piccoloist for the Rapides Symphony Orchestra. She is also cantor and choir member at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Ms. McCarty has worked with the Les Petites Voix organization as an assistant director having recently received a Diploma in Music Pedagogy for the Franz Liszt Academy: Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute in Hungary. She received her Master and Bachelor of Music Education degrees and also has her certification for the Zodály Institute from McNeese State University.

Annette Larsen

Annette Larsen has joined Les Petites Voix as the new director of the Les Petites Voix Preparatory Choir. She will also continue to serve as their accompanist. Annette has served in this capacity for the group since 1996. She is presently teaching music at T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School. Ms. Larsen is he past choral director of the Governor’s Program for Gifted Children at McNeese State University. She is the organist and Children’s Choir Director at St. Luke-Simpson UMC as well as teaches piano and Kindermusik. Ms. Larsen holds Master and Bachelor degrees from McNeese State University and received her Kodály Teacher Certification in 1999.
